Seamus, Willie and PJ Byrne enjoying the craic at the 2005 Dinner Dance. Their late father Billy was on the first ever Clonmore team to win a championship in 1950.
Cousins Kevin and John “Morgan” Tallon were two very tasty forwards on the 1980 Championship winning squad. Kevin was also an outstanding hurler and has the distinction of being on four Carlow county teams in the same year: u-21 and senior hurling and football.
Mick O’Sullivan and his wife Teresa proudly display the 1980 Championship medal which Mick was presented with for the first time at the 2005 Dinner Dance. Originally from Ballyconnell, Mick has been living in Mullingar for many years and used to travel from Mullingar to play and train with Clonmore in the late ‘70s. Always regarded as one of the fittest men in the club in his playing days, if you were marking Mick you would know all about it! Mick’s brother Olan also played for Clonmore in the 60s and 70s.
