Liam Butler, winner of the Hall of Fame Award at the 2002 Annual Dinner Dance, flanked on his right by ace marksman from the 70s and 80s, Des Kelly, and on his left by Hon. President, Eddie Forde.
Liam Butler was an outstanding full back for Clonmore in the late 60s and early 70s. A wholehearted player, Liam had all the natural attributes of a traditional full back, big and strong with a great pair of hands. Liam's imposing physical presence and 'thou shalt not pass' policy intimidated many an opposing forward. Having made his debut for the county team in 1972, Liam looked to have a long county career ahead of him but a broken leg the same year brought a premature end to a great footballing career.
Liam is the son of the late Willie Butler of Ballyconnell who gave great service to the Clonmore club for many years and was the club's main recruiting agent in the Ballyconnell area. Liam's brother Pat was also a fine player for Clonmore before he too succumbed to a knee injury at a young age.
John McGrath fields a high ball while playing for Carlow against Sligo,
Championship Qualifier, 2001. John, along with his brother Paudge and
Peter Kiernan, have established themselves as important members of the
Carlow Senior Panel over the last few years. Well done lads, you have
done the club proud.

Thomas Rookie Doyle receives his Senior Player of the Year Award from Senior Selector, Ger Doyle, at the Annual Dinner Dance, January, 2002.
Surprisingly, this was Rookie's first Senior Player Award in a long and
distinguished career on the Clonmore Senior team which began in 1986.
The award was fitting recognition for a man who continues to show huge
commitment to the club at an age when most of his contemporaries have
hung up their boots - Thomas is the only member of the great 1987 U-21
team still on the senior panel in 2002. As well as his outstanding
contribution to Clonmore, Thomas has played for the County Minor and U-21
teams and has the distinction of winning an All-Ireland B Championship
medal as a member of the Carlow Senior
Panel in 1994.
